Areas of Competence:
Throughout my ten years of experience as a marriage and family therapist, I have worked with children, adults, couples, and families. I specialize in addressing client issues related to anxiety, depression, grief and loss, workplace burnout, relationships, trauma and abuse, reproductive health and perinatal mood disorders, and substance use. I have received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Specialist Certifications:
I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health provider (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International. I complete at least 12 credits of continuing education, specific to perinatal mental health, during each two year renewal period.
Course of Action:
During our intake session, we will review necessary intake paperwork and I will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability and within my scope of practice. I will gather information for an initial assessment, in which I will ask questions about your current state of functioning, symptoms, and any relevant personal and family history. This will help me formulate a diagnosis and establish medical necessity for services. We will then move into treatment planning, which is a collaborative process between client and therapist. It is my intention to provide services that will assist you in reaching your identified goals. Based on the information you provide to me, I will offer feedback and recommendations regarding participation in services and therapeutic modalities. Over the course of therapy, I will continue to evaluate whether the therapy being provided is beneficial to you. While I hope our work together will be effective, the amount and length of treatment varies from patient to patient. I am unable to predict how long you will be in therapy or guarantee a specific outcome or result of our work together.
Fee schedule, method of billing, and terms of payment:
The fee for service is $175 per individual therapy session (50 minutes)
Missed appointments and late cancellations (less that 24-hour notice) will incur a charge of $100
Fees are due at the time that services are rendered. I accept payment in the form of a debit card or credit card. You are ultimately responsible for payment for services before the start of each session even if you are expecting your insurance company or another third-party payor to cover the costs of your treatment.

Insurance:
If you wish to use insurance, am an in-network provider for the following health plans most major insurance companies across the four states I am licensed in. I use the platforms Alma and Headway to verify insurance benefits. If I am a contracted provider with your insurance company, I will discuss the procedures for billing your insurance. The amount of reimbursement and the amount of any co-payments or co-insurance payments depends on the requirements of your specific insurance plan. Please be aware that insurance plans generally limit coverage to diagnosable mental conditions. You are responsible for verifying and understanding the limits of your insurance coverage. Although I am happy to assist your efforts to seek insurance reimbursement, I am unable to guarantee that your insurance will provide payment for the services provided to you.

Accountability - Vermont:

§ 4042. Unprofessional conduct
(a) Unprofessional conduct means the following conduct and the conduct set forth in 3 V.S.A. § 129a:
(1) Failing to use a complete title in professional activity.
(2) Conduct that evidences moral unfitness to practice marriage and family therapy.
(3) Engaging in any sexual conduct with a client, or with the immediate family member of a client, with whom the licensed marriage and family therapist has had a professional relationship within the previous two years.
(4) Harassing, intimidating, or abusing a client.
(5) Entering into an additional relationship with a client, supervisee, research participant, or student that might impair the marriage and family therapist’s objectivity or otherwise interfere with the marriage and family therapist’s professional obligations.
(6) Practicing outside or beyond a marriage and family therapist’s area of training, experience, and competence without appropriate supervision.
(7) Using conversion therapy as defined in 18 V.S.A. § 8351 on a client younger than 18 years of age.
(b) After hearing and upon a finding of unprofessional conduct, or upon approval of a negotiated agreement, the Board may take disciplinary action against the licensed marriage and family therapist or applicant. That action may include any of the following conditions or restrictions, which may be in addition to or in lieu of suspension:
(1) A requirement that the person submit to appropriate treatment.
(2) A restriction that a licensed marriage and family therapist practice only under the supervision of a named individual or an individual with specified credentials.
(3) A requirement that a licensed marriage and family therapist participate in continuing education as directed by the Board in order to overcome specified deficiencies.
(4) A requirement that the licensed marriage and family therapist’s scope of practice be restricted to a specified extent.
